Jamal Baig, DVM, MPVM
Dr. Jamal Baig is the owner of Norwich Veterinary Hospital (NVH) in Bozrah, Connecticut, which he purchased at the end of 2016. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1990 and holds a Master’s degree in Preventive Veterinary Medicine from the University of California. He completed residency training in Laboratory Animal Medicine at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California, followed by postdoctoral training at Beth Israel Medical Center, Harvard Medical School in Massachusetts. Dr. Baig also completed additional clinical rotations and training in both small and large animal medicine at the Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Prior to NVH, Dr. Baig owned and operated Banfield/Manchester Pet Hospital in Connecticut for 10 years. During his time at Norwich Veterinary Hospital, he has expanded the hospital’s work with rescue partners and continues to provide dedicated surgical and medical care to patients throughout the community.
Elissa Pollak, DVM
Dr. Elissa Pollak joined Norwich Veterinary Hospital in 2026 as an Associate Veterinarian. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013.
Prior to joining Norwich Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Pollak worked as an Associate Veterinarian at Claremont Veterinary Hospital in New Hampshire for 10 years before relocating to Connecticut.
Dr. Pollak has professional interests in surgery, wellness care, canine reproduction, and equine medicine. She enjoys working closely with clients to support the health and well-being of their animals.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Pollak enjoys spending time with her husband, Sean, and their lively household of five cats, three large dogs, and four horses.
